PteroDynamics Inc. and Cornes Technologies Limited announced a strategic distribution agreement to bring PteroDynamics’ revolutionary autonomous Transwing® VTOL unmanned aerial system (UAS) to the Japanese market. Cornes Technologies will be the exclusive distributor of the Transwing UAS on behalf of PteroDynamics in Japan for commercial, defense, and other government sales.
A Gray Eagle Extended Range Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) showcased several new capabilities, including the integration of an Expeditionary Cyber Chassis for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance and Modular Open Suite of Standards with Communications Intelligence and Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) radios from Silvus Technologies.
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) completed a major milestone with the full-scale fatigue testing of an MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). The team completed the “second lifetime” of fatigue testing, which is equivalent to 80,000 operating hours and represents an important step in validating the design of the airframe system.
Toyota Motor Corporation and Joby Aviation, Inc., a company developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, announced that Toyota will invest an additional $500 million to support the certification and commercial production of Joby’s electric air taxi, with the aim of realizing the two companies’ shared vision of air mobility.
