DroneShield announced Monday that its first European-manufactured counter-unmanned aerial system (CUAS) units have successfully completed production, marking a milestone in the company's effort to expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen regional supply chains in Europe.The announcement was made at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, where the company is demonstrating its drone detection and countermeasure technologies to military and security customers.According to DroneShield, the European-produced systems deliver the same performance and capabilities as its Australian-built products. The units are being manufactured through a contract manufacturing arrangement that relies primarily on a European supply chain, while the company's Australian production continues to be supported by largely domestic suppliers."This milestone reflects our commitment to supporting allied nations with locally produced, highly capable counter-UAS systems," Chief Commercial Officer Louis Gamarra said in a statement. "Customers in Europe can now access the same trusted DroneShield technology, built with a supply chain aligned to regional industrial priorities."The company said the pilot production batch comes as European governments increase investment in defense industrial capacity through initiatives such as the European Union's Readiness 2030 framework, which aims to strengthen defense manufacturing and improve military preparedness across member states.DroneShield said its European manufacturing capability is expected to provide faster delivery times, improved supply-chain resilience and closer alignment with regional defense requirements.The announcement follows the recent opening of DroneShield's European headquarters in Amsterdam, reinforcing the company's long-term commitment to serving customers across NATO and partner nations.DroneShield said the European-produced systems use artificial intelligence to detect a wide range of unmanned aerial threats in both military and civilian environments. The company expects to further expand its manufacturing operations in Europe as demand for counter-drone technologies continues to grow.
