SPARC AI announced Wednesday a strategic partnership with Rate Manufacturing to integrate GPS-denied navigation and targeting technology into drone systems designed for military and defense applications.

The partnership, announced at SOF Week in Tampa, Florida, will integrate SPARC AI’s Overwatch software platform into Rate Manufacturing’s Model-F multi-mission drone systems and future unmanned aerial platforms.

The companies said the collaboration is aimed at improving drone performance in contested environments where GPS and other satellite navigation systems may be disrupted or unavailable.

Rate Manufacturing’s Model-F platform focuses on modularity, scalability and low-cost production, while SPARC AI’s Overwatch software uses onboard inertial sensors and artificial intelligence to maintain positioning and targeting accuracy without relying on external signals or additional hardware.

“Rate Manufacturing’s mission is to deliver drone systems that are reliable, intuitive, and affordable,” said Jamie Waller, CEO of Rate Manufacturing. “SPARC AI’s Overwatch fits that mission directly.”

SPARC AI officials said the partnership addresses a growing need for resilient navigation systems as military organizations increasingly prioritize drones capable of operating in electronically contested environments.

Initial efforts will focus on system integration, demonstrations and pilot programs with U.S. and allied defense customers. The companies said future plans include broader deployment and production expansion.

The partnership aligns with emerging U.S. defense priorities emphasizing scalable and cost-effective drone systems capable of operating under electronic warfare conditions.

SPARC AI said the announcement follows expanded defense-related activity in Ukraine and growing engagement with allied markets.
