Mobix Labs Inc. has received Federal Aviation Administration certification for its next-generation drone-based airborne sensing platform, clearing a key regulatory milestone and moving the program into commercial execution, the company said.

Following FAA approval, Mobix Labs has begun expanding field operations and initiating customer pilot activity. The certification enables broader flight operations and positions the company to deploy its drone platform across the growing infrastructure inspection market, where rail, utility and industrial operators are increasing adoption of automated, data-driven inspection solutions.

The drone platform was developed by Mobix Labs’ Wireless Division, RaGE Systems. The company said it has advanced the system from concept to a fully integrated, FAA-certified airborne platform in just over one year.

Mobix Labs has integrated a custom multi-sensor payload onto a rugged, medium-lift drone designed for mission-critical infrastructure environments. FAA approval allows for expanded customer pilots and scalable field deployments, marking the transition from research and development to commercialization.

As deployments begin, Mobix Labs said it is delivering a full-stack airborne intelligence platform that combines advanced multi-sensor technologies, proprietary onboard computing hardware, autonomous flight control software, and real-time analytics and data visualization. The system converts raw sensor data into actionable intelligence to support faster inspections, earlier fault detection and predictive maintenance. Multiple flight tests have validated system performance and operational readiness.
