The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) has completed the selection process and executed a contract for the state's first investment in an airspace management system and automatic detect-and-avoid solution to support both drone flights and the rapidly emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry.

The John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences (UND Aerospace) has entered a one-year partnership with Vigilant Aerospace Systems to utilize the company’s drone safety software and airspace management system FlightHorizon. A memorandum of understanding was signed late last year to formalize the agreement.

Last October Vigilant Aerospace kicked off a groundbreaking project for the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop a detect-and-avoid system for the Air Force’s new long-endurance drone. The company has continued to reach important milestones on the path to bringing FlightHorizon PILOT, our dual-use (i.e. for both civilian and military users) onboard detect-and-avoid product, to the military.

Vigilant Aerospaces' FlightHorizon airspace management and uncrewed traffic management (UTM) system has been selected as the airspace management system for the Skyway36 droneport in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
