Canadian drone pioneer begins trading on Canada's stock exchange
Draganfly Inc., a manufacturer within the commercial unmanned aerial vehicle space, will begin trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange under ticker symbol “DFLY”.
The Canadian company has been building and deploying multirotor and fixed wing drones since 1999. From its headquarters in Saskatoon, the company has a long of history in providing public and government entities with reliable drones suitable for multiple missions. The company is responsible for several firsts in the industry and now claims to be a drone firm that was important to the drone industry before the drone industry truly took off.
Chairman and CEO, Cameron Chell, said new factors in regulation and industry demand helped the company decide to expand to the CSE. “Dynamic industry expansion and recent regulatory and government positions on drone operations in North America focused on securing, promoting and adopting North American technology has Draganfly well positioned for growth,” Chell said. “We are fortunate to be able to access the public markets to support this growth and the evolution of the drone and unmanned vehicle space in North America."
In more financial news for Draganfly, the company also announced the grant of stock options and restricted share units to certain officers, directors and employees of the company. Incentive stock options to purchase up to 2,925,000 common shares were granted to officers, directors and employees, pursuant to the company's share compensation plan, exercisable at a price of $0.50 per common share. The options shall have a term of 10 years and vest in three equal tranches, on the first, second and third anniversaries of the date of grant. In addition, 2,925,000 RSUs were awarded to officers, directors and employees pursuant to the company's share compensation plan. The RSUs shall vest in three equal tranches, on the first, second and third anniversaries of the date of grant.
