Liteye delivers counter-UAS system to Northrop Grumman

Liteye Systems Inc. last month delivered the last unit of the first-round of containerized anti-unmanned defense systems (C-AUDS) to Northrop Grumman Corp.

These systems will support Northrup Grumman’s efforts in the counter-unmanned aircraft systems market protecting critical infrastructure and lives in numerous deployment areas. Liteye Systems, based in Centennial, Colorado, manufactures C-AUDS with the help of U.S.-based companies Pratt & Miller and Numerica.

“This not only demonstrates our long-term commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality and performance of products, but also it reflects our passion in achieving world-class project execution, on-time-delivery objectives and overall pursuit of excellence in customer satisfaction,” said Derek Newsom, Liteye chief operating officer.

C-AUDS is a commercially available product that can be customized for non-military counter-UAS, surveillance and other security needs to protect and defend sensitive installations, facilities and events. It was designed to operate in any location under any type of climate.

Liteye said the deliveries to Northrop Grumman are significant in providing a counter-UAS capability to those threatened by the emerging use of drones as weapons. C-AUDS is based on combat-proven technology first fielded in 2016. According to Liteye, it was instrumental in defeating enemy drones in Iraq’s battle of Mosul. The company has continuously added more systems to new locations in support of ongoing efforts.

Liteye’s suite of counter-UAS products and integrated technologies continue to provide customers with solutions to detect, track, identify and defeat threats posed by malicious drone attacks.

Newsom also announced that C-AUDS is being managed and produced under Liteye’s ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.  The company completed its transition to the new 2015 version of the ISO standard earlier this year.
