Cyberhawk assisting with major U.S. construction project
Cyberhawk has been awarded a three-year contract by a major oil and gas company to provide digital asset management during the construction of a new world-scale petrochemical complex in the U.S.
Based in Scotland and operating in 25 countries, Cyberhawk was chosen to provide drone content management and distribution services using its iHawk software. The company has been providing UAS services to the oil and gas industry since its founding in 2008.
“Despite having worked with this oil and gas super-major for the last eight years in more than eight countries, this is the first time iHawk has been adopted at such large scale,” said Chris Fleming, Cyberhawk’s CEO. “The client was impressed by the functionality offered by iHawk and Cyberhawk’s ability to build on this platform to create a fully customized, bespoke solution for its needs.”
According to Cyberhawk, the main construction phase of the new petrochemical plant is underway. The project involves the building of processing units, cooling towers, rail and truck loading facilities, a water treatment plant, office buildings and a laboratory.
The company building the plant chose Cyberhawk to provide a comprehensive, detailed software solution using a digitized drone view to capture data on a weekly basis, which includes orthophotos, spherical images, 3D point cloud models and videos.
Cyberhawk describes iHawk as an intuitive, cloud-based software, developed to host inspection and survey data from various sources. It provides industry-specific solutions for the wind, utilities, oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.
For the U.S. petrochemical facility, iHawk provides the project’s stakeholders with an up-to-date, at-a-glance visual overview at any time and from anywhere in the world. Cyberhawk said iHawk is now being used by hundreds of engineers, designers, managers and consultants in four continents who are involved in project construction, helping to improve safety, track progress and aid in decision making.
