Kespry enters insurance sector with new drone platform features
Drone hardware, software and cloud services developer Kespry marked its formal entry into the insurance industry this week by including imagery and automated analysis for roofing inspections as part of its enterprise drone platform.
George Mathew, Kespry CEO and chairman, said the technology enables insurers to provide their policyholders with shortened claim cycles and reduced loss adjustment expenses while minimizing liabilities and risks for field staffs.
"The easy-to-use and fully-integrated Kespry Drone Platform enables major industrial companies to collect more accurate information, more frequently, efficiently and safely,” he said. “This drives greater cost savings and business value."
According to Kespry, its entry into the insurance sector came after extensive field tests and insurance-specific improvements designed with customers and industry leaders that include Hancock Claims Consultants, AMAT Roofing, CRU Adjusters and Superstorm Restoration.
Based in Menlo Park, California, Kespry’s move into the insurance industry coincided with significant strides in improving its cloud platform. In addition to significant upgrades in scalability, security and reliability, Kespry said the platform also provides the mapping, rendering, data analysis and analytics required in comprehensive aerial intelligence applications.
The new Kespry Cloud adds sophisticated machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence designed to automatically identify hail damage to roofs. Customized wireframes are quickly produced for the entire roof and automated dimension reports are instantly available for high-accuracy measurements. Insurers can then move data into common estimate generation software and claims management systems to complete the claims process.
In addition, Kespry announced the opening of its architecture to third-party software providers to further extend the company’s insurance capabilities and enable easier integration with existing enterprise applications. Kespry has established a foundation for providing APIs for integration with third parties. It also provides for bi-directional data sharing between Kespry and other enterprise systems.
