The National Protective Security Authority, working with UK government departments and operational end users, has opened expressions of interest for its 2026 independent counter-unmanned aircraft system equipment evaluations.The program invites manufacturers and suppliers of counter-UAS technology to participate in operationally informed testing designed to assess system performance under realistic conditions. The evaluations support government, law enforcement and critical national infrastructure customers in making evidence-based procurement decisions.As the UK’s national authority for protective security, NPSA conducts independent assessments to validate counter-UAS capability, accelerate industry development and strengthen confidence in system performance. Evaluation by NPSA is now a minimum requirement for Home Office procurement of counter-UAS technology.“The results help us understand system performance in realistic environments,” said a UK government security lead. “We only procure systems we understand, and participation in NPSA evaluations gives us confidence in capability and reliability.”NPSA reports that participating vendors benefit from trusted third-party validation, detailed technical feedback and increased credibility with UK and international customers.Eligible applicants include established counter-UAS manufacturers offering detection, tracking and identification capabilities at technology readiness level 8 or higher. Systems must be deployable in live operational environments.Successful participants will deploy their systems to an NPSA test site, undergo controlled and measurable test scenarios at no cost for the evaluation itself, and receive a detailed evaluation report. Approved systems will also be listed in NPSA’s Catalogue of Security Equipment and gain insight into government operational requirements.Expressions of interest must be submitted by email, including company details, product name and a contact point, to cuas@npsa.gov.uk by Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.
