Produced by UAS Magazine and in partnership with the Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation, the Arizona UAS Summit agenda will showcase why the Southwest is becoming a top UAS destination in the U.S.

MESA, ARIZONA - UAS Magazine announced this week the preliminary agenda for the 2ndh annual Arizona UAS Summit & Expo, the Southwest’s premier unmanned aircraft systems event produced by UAS Magazine. Taking place November 6-8 in Mesa, AZ, the agenda, focused on both small and large unmanned aircraft systems – reveals how Arizona and the surrounding states are leading the commercialization of UAVs. The three-day event will explain and include cutting-edge research, commercial operation successes and end-user opportunities present in Arizona and the region. The event will unite commercial manufacturers and operators, researchers, payload providers, platform designers and multiple leaders spearheading UAS expansion.

“The agenda the program committee has assembled combines the perspective of regional UAS personnel with the regulatory insight of national UAV entities, while offering attendees a glimpse into the commercial realities and major economic opportunities present in the Southwest and the surrounding regions,” says Luke Geiver, program director for the Arizona UAS Summit and editor of UAS Magazine.

The second annual Arizona UAS Summit & Expo will once again highlight the crucial storylines and emerging trends shaping the unmanned aircraft systems industry on the national and regional levels. Produced by the team from UAS Magazine in collaboration with the Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation, this year’s event will feature three days of expert commentary, high-level presentations and networking opportunities designed for decision makers currently or potentially linked to UAS. Topics will cover:

- How regional military installations are positively integrating with communities through UAS operations

- The opportunity for drone manufacturers and service providers in Mexico

- Regional research efforts in need of UAS partners

- What major companies based in the region want and need from the UAS industry

- How policymakers from the region view UAS and its future in the region

- Unique opportunities for non-region UAS-related operations

With more than 1,200 aerospace companies and the largest government-based UAS center in the world located in Arizona, the Southwest’s role in furthering the breakout of commercial UAS activity or the continuation of mission critical UAS operations is primed to expand.

“There is so much support provided by the region,” says Geiver. “Having a conference in Mesa, Arizona provides the right mix for companies looking to do business, because of the involvement provided by the state, universities, city, region and chambers. Everyone here is onboard for supporting drone commercialization”
